TECHNOLOGY PLAN EVALUATION 2006 – 2009
The technology plan will be reviewed annually to measure the progress of all components including professional development, curriculum and instruction, assessment and reporting, equipment and network design, maintenance and support, and financial issues.
The technology steering committee will adopt a detailed evaluation plan that will measure the efficiency of target goals as they are related to services provided to the district.
Goal-Based Evaluation Strategy
Enid Public Schools will use the Goal-Based Evaluation Strategy that determines if the progress of the goals and objectives for the technology improvement plan has been met. The Goal-based Evaluation Strategy involves three types of functions: evaluating the progress goals/objectives, ensuring that the technology improvement plan is working as intended by assessing the process indicators, and choosing a method for determining the results of the plan through the application of various evaluation tools. If the evaluation process indicates that all progress objectives are being met, our district will examine what new strengths and opportunities are emerging from this success. If the progress technology improvement plan is not being met, the technology steering committee will determine whether action plans are being correctly implemented by evaluating its process indicators.
There are three levels of summative evaluation that will be considered when selecting the evaluation tools. These levels of summative evaluation include the changes in the teaching staff as a result of participating in the professional development program, the changes in the various school organizations and programs, and the effect that the technology plan has had on student learning. All three levels of summative evaluation will be included in the evaluation strategies.
The most important factor to remember when selecting evaluation tools that support the summative evaluation process is to select tools that will allow for a format that can be easily understood. Although the technology plan is designed to positively affect student learning, the plan may have an impact on district employees. To be thorough, the evaluation tools will be selected from all sources which the technology plan is designed to affect. This will require the technology planning team to use different types of information from a variety of sources. To repeat, information gained through the evaluation tools should include data on participant outcomes, school improvement goals, and student learning.
