Enid Families Encouraged to Visit Schools Monday

Posted Date: 08/11/2016

Enid Public Schools students and their families are invited to kick off the school year Monday with Meet the Teacher Night at schools throughout the district.

Meet the Teacher Night will be held at the middle school and high school sites from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and elementary schools from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Students and their families will be given the opportunity to meet their teachers, talk with their principals and tour their buildings. Parents can sign-up to volunteer, and they will receive valuable information about the upcoming school year. Assistance also will be available for the Parent Portal and other online paperwork and resources.

"Meet the Teacher Night gives students an opportunity to not only see their classrooms, but also to visit with their teachers and classmates," said Amber Graham Fitzgerald, Executive Director of Human Resources & Communications. "On the first day of school, they feel more comfortable and relaxed, and they're ready to learn when the bell rings. It’s a great way to start the school year."

Many schools will host booths from their respective PTA organizations, as well as other community groups.

EPS classes begin Wednesday, August 17.
