Posted Date: 03/28/2016

(Enid, OK) The Big Blue Band, who is set to take on the Nation’s Capital for the National Memorial Day Parade, is going to perform a free spring concert at the Enid Event Center March 31 at 7PM.  This is a free concert to the public before they take off for Washington, D.C.  Any donations will go directly to raise funds for the trip.

“The Big Blue Band is so excited to be representing the State of Oklahoma in the 2016 Memorial Day parade in Washington D.C.” said Thom Bushman, President of the Enid High Big Blue Band Booster Club.  “Without the financial support of the entire community, a trip like this would not be possible.  It will cost approximately $1,000 per member and we’re trying to raise additional funds to help make this a trip of a lifetime”

Performances on March 31 will be The Enid High Wind Ensemble, The Enid High Symphonic Band, Enid High Jazz 1 and Enid High Jazz 2.

The Big Blue Band is going to be representing the entire state in Washington, DC for the National Memorial Day Parade and for most Band members, this is the first time they will be performing on a stage this size.

The band booster club is looking for sponsors to help fund the trip: $1,000 for a full sponsorship, $500 for a half, and $250 for a quarter.

All donations are tax deductible and can be sent to the EHS Big Blue Band Booster Club, 610 S. Cleveland St., PBM 437, Enid, OK 73703.
