The Enid Public Schools Business Department team is receiving statewide accolades for the outstanding work they accomplish in the area of financial services.

Chief Financial Officer Karl White and his staff will receive the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Annual Financial Reporting during an upcoming conference, the Oklahoma State Department of Education announced this week. Enid was selected for this honor in the large district category.

The award will be presented on July 8 during the EngageOK Conference in Oklahoma City.

“We are extremely proud of Mr. White and his team. Although their work is often behind the scenes, they ensure that we are running smoothly as an organization,” Superintendent Dr. Darrell Floyd said. “They are not only outstanding stewards of taxpayer funds, but they also help us maximize our resources to make the greatest impact for our students. We appreciate their expertise and strong work ethic.”

White and his staff members oversee all areas of finance for the district, including payroll, accounts payable, state aid and more. His business team includes Cindy Shiever, business manager; Reba Pinegar, payroll; Lynette Rice, benefits; Kathie Willey, accounts payable; and Pam Buckminster, treasurer.

Nancy Hughes, Executive Director of Finance Accounting/Oklahoma Cost Accounting System/Auditing, applauded the Enid staff for their commitment to quality work.

“The leadership that has been demonstrated by you and your staff is an asset. We are excited to have this opportunity to recognize your district and to honor your board of education, you and your staff for your hard work and dedication,” Hughes said in a recent letter to the district.
