CREATING CLASSROOMS WITHOUT WALLS PROJECT

Launch in external player

The Creating Classrooms Without Walls” project will enable schools across the district to develop virtual content using the Virtual Planer as a guide for submitting individual or classroom virtual lessons. The project will also explore and tests a wide range of technology that is available for videoconferencing, content storage, and to assess its suitability and ease of use in the classroom. The Classroom Without Walls project will utilize unitedstreaming content like it has never been developed before and to this end the realities of virtual learning will be a paradigm shift to the way children learn as well as when they learn and why they learn.

The “Creating Classrooms Without Walls” project proposes the develop a website www.creating classrooms without walls.com as a resource for teachers and students. The web site will serve two purposes. The first purpose is to enable students and teachers to access a warehouse of virtual mini lessons built around National and State content standards, utilizing unitedstreaming resources and to establish videoconferencing partners to schedule interactive videoconference lessons. The Virtual Lesson Plan Database will contain virtual mini-lessons (not to exceed twenty minute duration) and activities designed by and for K-12 educators. Also, teachers who created virtual lessons and activities will engage an important role in demonstrating the practical and effective uses of technology resources in teaching and learning.

Acceptance Review Certification Process

Each virtual lesson submitted will go through a team acceptance review certification process prior to being posted online. The acceptance review team will consist of technical staff, copyright experts and educators. Each acceptance review team member will be given access to all virtual lessons submitted and will evaluate them according to certification guidelines.

Virtual lessons meeting specification will be certified to be placed in an online database warehouse, for local access and will be eligible for the Awards Program. Lesson plans that do not meet certification standards will be sent back with recommendations of compliance for meeting the certification standards. Whether or not to bring lesson plans up to certification standards will be at the discretion of the virtual lesson plan developer. Re-submitted virtual lessons will be reviewed again and upon achieving certification standards will be placed online and eligible for the Awards Program.

How to Submit Virtual Lessons:

Transfer virtual lesson, and/or activities to a CD. Make sure that each virtual lesson follows the Virtual Planner guidelines and have completed all necessary requirements outlined on the Creating Classrooms Without Walls CD. (See Submittal Form) Virtual lesson developers will be notified regarding virtual lesson acceptance and certification. If a plan does not meet certification standards, developers will be notified and given the opportunity to bring the virtual lesson up to certification standards.
